The  annual events showcase some of Strathcona County’s most unique artists!

Our Spring Show is  focused on creativity, community and connections. You will have the opportunity to view and purchase some amazing pieces, created by some incredible artistic talent! Paintings, photography, digital art, mixed media and other works of art.

These events are FREE to the public

The Art Society of Strathcona County first hosted the High School Art Show and Competition in 2000. It has been a steady fixture in our events and is directly connected to our ASSC Objectives to:

• To promote a greater awareness and appreciation of art within the Society and throughout Strathcona County
• To encourage visual art projects which will benefit all age groups residing in Strathcona County
• To bring together artists and persons interested in art
• To provide fellowship

This show is run by our member volunteers, is inclusive of all Strathcona County High School students, and is largely directed by the teachers in our five high schools. It takes many hours and lots of effort on everyone’s part to exhibit, award and show our local youth’s talent and innovative skills. Awards, ribbons and prize money, are given out after being juried and then exhibited in our building for the show weekend and then a County exhibition space for a year. Our local youth continued to astound everyone and make us proud!

This is your chance to view an artist's process, inspiration, AND creative space! And, of course, you'll find many treasures of art to purchase! 

In this free self-guided tour, local artists open their homes studios to the public! This successful and event is now in its eighth year.

Local artists create unique items for this one of a kind sale, featuring pottery, paintings, wood carvings, creative glass, jewelry, unique decorations, knitting, and some wonderful stocking stuffers.

Our "Christmas Market Place" is a wonderful event that allows us to bring people together, through a shared curiosity of the arts! Enjoy the atmosphere of the Christmas Season, meet the artists, and bring home something unique to put under the tree.
