COMPOSITION TO COMPLETION: Creating Dynamic Paintings
from Photographs with INGRID CHRISTENSEN
This workshop will put you firmly in charge of your painting from the very first mark. It will teach you to organize complex scenes into clear, coherent, and powerful paintings, and to execute them simply and logically.
Concept and Composition: You will learn to develop a concept, organize and manipulate your image, creating dynamic shapes and avoid detail, while exploring the basic abstraction.
Alla prima paint applicaiton: You will develop your paintings working wet-in-wet, learn to layer without mud and use loose brushstrokes.
Color and Value: You will learn to overcome the drawbacks of color and value in photographs.
Suitable for oil and acrylic painters with some experience.
Wednesday through Friday, September 23 to 25
10:00 am - 4:00 pm (1/2 hour lunch)
Social Distancing will be in effect. Bring your lunch.
Some instructors will require participants to wear masks, so come prepared!
Cost: Member $200; /Non member $275
